POETRY FTW

So, um, poetry.  I'm writing poetry, for reasons inexplicable to me.  But here it is, all up in this bitch.  Being the sad lonely bastard I am, this was written exclusively between the hours of 10 at night and 1 in the morning, over the course of about a week.  So tell me what you think, there will prolly be more to come.

Also, um, titles.  Titles are good.

Shattered Glass

I sit and watch the sun go down,
clear orbs of restless night
take refuge in my head.
I float through worlds of red and gold
watch the webs go by,
weighed down by guilt,
showing no face.
shadows creep with boots of lead,
true intentions
hidden in infinite space.

And I wait
for what is to be,
watch the screens of the past,
people
who thought they were free.
Iron rings
Chains to reality, chains to dreams
The glass box breaks
and out spills half-formed fantasies
all and one
Falling apart
At the seams.

The windows shatter and fall back to earth,
the air splits and tears
and I fall,
hands turned to stone.
refractions of light and time
play out across the screen,
and the glass turns to jade.
Demons watch me from my throne,
an infinite lake,
balanced on a Razor's Edge.
And I wait
for what will not be,
angered past, saddened future,
and I
for what I would not see.
Golden wings
Chains to memory, chains to dreams
The glass box breaks
and out pours
Bleak Analysis
cynics and beggars
come apart
at the seams.

The clear moon trawls across the sky,
blank stars
the only solace
of a lonely earth.
A bitter breeze stains hearts of fire,
a royal beggar's lonely perch
of wrath and mirth.
Moonglow dances across my eyes,
a sea of shattered glass
paints portraits of shadows.
Yet I yearn, And still I try
I remember
the pain of joy
lies not in its' birth.

network

imagine, for a moment, the world as i see it. everyone is a cell. the cell is a globe of writhing strings of elemental equations, layer upon layer going from petty thoughts, those quick strings changing so rapidly, to the very core of what makes you a person, grand equations that have had years to develop and transform into who you are today. now imagine that cell floating in a dome with seven billion others, as well as the untold infinity of plants, animals, and other living things. the dome is near infinite, at least big enough to hold the entire population of the world quite comfortably. and between the individual globes, an unimaginably vast network or stings displays a realtime account of every relation ever to exist within the world we live in.
this is how i perceive things. zoom in on a certain section of the world, watch the relationships and bonds come and go. try and analyze the blockings and bondings that go on with the world. try and sense the feelings of others, see those thoughts flitting around just under the surface of the globe that is the complete and utter being of someone else.
just kidding.
the webs of communication that move across the world are vastly complex. it's impossible for someone of my concentration and imagination to imagine even the most basic of the links that travel across the world. all i can do is imagine. sometimes i can figure a single link, with a lot of information and a comfortable place to sit. there's a rock outside of my school building surrounded by flowers. it's calm, peaceful, and if i'm lucky none of the class below me throws the flowers at me. the bonds there are simple and clean, but all the more powerful for it. i can read the emotions, imagine the parameters of the equations that govern some of my closest friends. but i have a long way to go. these webs will be the a part of much of my future writing. hope i can spark your imagination...
